On the lock screen, tap “Forgot your code?” and type your 12 recovery words. Then choose a new code. For safety, your decoy code is switched off and can be set again in Settings.

On the new iPhone, open I Got You and choose “I already have a backup”. Pick your iCloud backup or your backup file, then type your 12 recovery words.

While you can still open the vault, go to Settings › Recovery key to see them again after typing your code. We can’t recover them for you, because we never have them.

Your second code opens a separate, fake vault. Put a few everyday photos and something a little private in it, so it looks real. The decoy is part of Pro.

On your iPhone: Settings › your name › Subscriptions › I Got You. Cancel at least 24 hours before it renews. Your files stay yours either way.

In the app, open Settings and tap “Restore purchase” while signed in with the same Apple Account you bought with.

Open Apple’s Photos app › Albums › Recently Deleted. Deleted photos stay there for 30 days and can be brought back.

To Apple’s Hidden album in Photos or, if you chose it, into your I Got You vault. You can change this in Settings › Swipe up hides to.

The number is what left your photo library. Your iPhone keeps deleted photos in Recently Deleted for 30 days; empty it to get the space now. With iCloud Photos on, some photos were already stored only in iCloud, so your iPhone may free up a little less right away.

Swiping, keeping and hiding are always free, and your first 30 deletes are free. Pro adds unlimited deleting and Smart finds.

On your iPhone: Settings › your name › Subscriptions › No More Mess. Cancel at least 24 hours before it renews. Lifetime is a one-time purchase, with nothing to cancel.

In the app, open Settings and tap “Restore purchase” while signed in with the same Apple Account you bought with.
